Tifton First Presents New Wednesday Night Programming

Tifton First Presents New Wednesday Night Programming

Tifton First United Methodist Church is excited to announce that we are adding some new programming to our Wednesday night activities.

Beginning Wednesday, January 10th, “Wednesday Connections” kicks off as we offer classes and activities for all of our members.

Following Wednesday Night Supper, our members will have a chance to not only join the Tifton First choir and participate in Chip’s Bible Study, they will also be able to sign up for enrichment classes, learn how to paint and do other arts and crafts, and even show off home improvement skills.

“Wednesday Connections” will also see a change in our Children’s Programming as their activity and meeting time will change from after-school to meeting after Wednesday Night Supper, as well. The Youth meeting time will remain the same.

“This is a great vehicle to pull all age groups together, especially our young adults,” said Tifton First Senior Pastor Chip Grantham. “It bridges all of our services and gives us another opportunity for fellowship for people who may not know one another.”

The Tifton First staff has created a schedule of events and classes for the months of January thru May. The courses will last four or eight weeks. Please use the QR Codes that are in the pew registration pads to sign up for the course or program in which you would like to participate.

Textured Painting will be the first arts and craft offering. Taught by Stacy Green, the class will meet in the Activities Center beginning January 10th and meet each Wednesday through January 31st. All supplies will be provided. Please sign up early to ensure that we have enough supplies.

Also starting January 10th is a Marriage Enrichment class taught by Tifton First members Jane and Joe Gray. The Grays will use the book “His Needs, Her Needs,” as the course offers invaluable insights , practical tools and personalized guidance to help understand and meet each other’s emotional needs and help to foster a deeper connection and intimacy within your marriage. This course lasts eight weeks and will end February 28th.

We are also starting a program called XYZ Helpers. The goal is to gather all “Handy People” to create a list of chores and tasks that can be accomplished on the Tifton First campus as well as at our member’s homes. We know that sometimes simple tasks like changing a light bulb or hanging a picture can be a challenge for some, so we want to create a team that can assist wherever needed.

This will be an on-going ministry that will meet in an Adult Building Sunday School room. With the first meeting January 10th. The facilitators of this program are George Alexion and Nelson Kunes.

We have many more activities and courses scheduled through the month of May. The list includes Intro to Cookie Decorating, Barn Quilt Hanging, and Canvas Painting, as well as Door Hanger Painting and Flowerpot Art.

A Financial Peace course will also be offered beginning Wednesday March 6 and ending May 1st. There is no fee to join this class and it will meet in the Joy Classroom.
