Tifton First Children’s Ministry
Guiding children to learn, believe, accept and share God’s Word.
Tifton First’s Children’s Ministry partners with families to help kids (infant thru 5th Grade), learn, believe, grow and become disciples. We engage families in stiving to share the gospel with children in meaningful ways so that they know God and can build their foundation for a relationship with Him. We use and follow the Orange Curriculum.
Orange is a strategy for how we do Christian education. The color orange comes from two colors, yellow and red, combined. Yellow represents the light of the church, red represents the heart of the home. When you combine the two influences, together they have a greater impact than two separate influences.
Orange uses 21st century technology – customized lesson plans, storytelling visuals, drama, music videos and social media as well as printed material – to connect with students, parents and leaders. The curriculum has been out about 10 years and today is in thousands of churches across 30 denominations internationally.
The children’s curriculum consists of “First Look,” for preschoolers and “252 Basics” for the elementary school crowd. (Luke 2:52: “As Jesus grew up, he increased in wisdom and in favor with God and people,” NIV).
We offer multiple events and activities throughout the year that provide age appropriate activities in a fun, spiritual and meaningful way. Some events children and families can look forward to are Kids Quest at Epworth by the Sea (3rd-5th Grades), Vacation Bible School (Pre-K-5th Grade), Summer day trips for all ages, Sea World (3rd-5th Grades), and our Thankful Thanksgiving Family progressive dinner. We have many activities and opportunities to get involved.
We are teaching kids to be the hands and feet of Christ through active mission’s work. Local missions include “Peanut Butter and Jesus” and “Called to Care”. Overseas missions include “Operation Christmas Child” boxes.
We conduct a “children’s sermon” during our Sunday worship services and we engage kids in numerous musical opportunities throughout the year.
There are many ways for your child to plug in throughout the week. Our “normal weekly” schedule includes:
Sunday School every Sunday from 9:45-10:45 am. Kids enjoy upbeat and age appropriate gospel and games that help reinforce the lesson of the day. Our Orange curriculum focus’ on the word and it’s practical application to our lives.
