Peace in the Present Moment
As we age, in awe, we often hear ourselves saying, “Time, time, where have the years gone? Seems like yesterday that…”
Living in the present moment is where we need to be—– where Jesus is; but carrying the hurts of past moments become a heavy load, and often causes us to live ‘under the circumstances of life’, even leading us into depression. Sometimes we feel enslaved by time—from too much FaceBook, YouTube, TV, telephone, internet games etc. Break away from that bondage, and find Peace in the “present moment.”
In a quiet place, as you practice being aware of Jesus in all things—in nature, such as bird songs, frolicking squirrels, and life in every growing plant; in the thoughts that come to mind— a friend who needs my prayers, a call, or visit, or to recognize a gift God has given me to share. Amazingly, you will have a heart of gratitude. You will find yourself ‘above the circumstances of life.’ There Jesus will give our heart peace, not as the world gives, but peace from the Father so our worries can cease—Peace that frees us from the bondage of time; and to live in the present moment with Jesus, and our ‘all knowing’ Father who is waiting to come to our aid.
“My peace I give unto you; not as the world gives.
Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
John 14:27
