“Love Personified”
Love Personified, God is love
The Father and Son are One
Jesus is light, light is love
Every good and perfect gift is from heaven above
Coming down from the Father of lights
As the Spirit descended upon the Son as a dove.
Our Savior descended from His heavenly throne
To seek and save the lost and to ransom His own
Angels heralded, shepherds awed, wise men sought and brought Him their best, His mother Mary cooed, the baby Jesus cried
Ushering in as Isaiah prophesied
Love personified
We the scapegoats, His beloved bride, He the bridegroom, the lamb of God, crucified.
Love personified
Bearing the scorn, sin, and shame
So that we could claim our positions and lay our petitions in our brother Jesus’ name
You are the branches, I am the vine
You are mine!
Ah, Love! What requireth thee of me?
Abba, Alpha, Agape others, self-denied
Jesus’ teachings applied
Love personified
