We are delighted to welcome our new Associate Pastor, Trevor Ward, and his wife Katy, to Tifton First UMC. Trevor comes to us from Mulberry UMC in Macon, where he was working with the youth, working with the contemporary service, and helping with pastoral care. He brings a wealth of experience to our contemporary service, having been the worship intern at the University of Georgia Wesley Foundation, and being the person who was brought in to Mulberry to start their contemporary service. Trevor has also been helping lead a young adult service in the Warner Robins area for some time. He is attending Asbury Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, and is excited to be growing in his ministerial responsibilities.
Katy is a graphic designer, and works for a company in Macon. Because of all of the changes that have come about as a result of COVID, she’s been able to work from home, and will be able to continue to do that, going to Macon a day or two a week to go into the office. She also was an intern with the Wesley Foundation at UGA, and we are so excited they are coming to be with us.
They will be living in a duplex for a season, while we undertake some major repairs and updates to the Associate Parsonage. I hope you will make it a point to say hello, and introduce yourselves to them in the coming months.
We will have a prayer service to start their time with us, and another year for us, on Thursday at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary. During our time, I’ll be sharing about where we are and where we’re going as a church in the midst of coming back from COVID, and in light of the upcoming separation in the United Methodist Church. I hope you can join us.
