If you missed Church on Sunday, Robby announced that he and Annie had made the decision to ask for a move to another church this year. Citing where they were with the ages of their children and their grade-levels in school, and where he was in the process – they thought this was the best year to make the change they knew was inevitable. They had asked Staff Parish to keep it quiet, until they knew where they were being appointed.
The call for their appointment came on Thursday afternoon, and Friday Robby got official word that they would be appointed to Folkston UMC. We know that God is involved in this process, and we’re excited for what He has in store for them, as we are sad to know that they will be leaving us in June.
We will be advertising for a Children’s Director as soon as possible. We have been making some inquiries of folks we thought might be good fits to follow Annie, and know that God is going to continue to build on the foundation that she has built in our Children’s Ministry.
We are excited to announce that Trevor Ward has been appointed as our new Associate Pastor, and he and his wife, Katy, will be joining us in June. Trevor is coming to us from Mulberry UMC, where he has had a variety of responsibilities, including the Contemporary Worship Leader and Student Pastor. He and Katy are both former interns with the Wesley Foundation at the University of Georgia.
Please keep both of these families, and all of the pastoral families and churches experiencing moves in your prayers. We are excited to see what God is going to do through these changes!
