What a Confirmation Retreat!

I attended my first Confirmation Retreat this past weekend. It wasn’t the Conference’s retreat that they’ve offered since the early 2000s. It was a joint one that we did with Perry UMC. But it had all of the bells and whistles of the Conference one, from video messages from the Bishop, to the director of the museum at Epworth telling the kids the history of Methodism – complete with a Jeopardy game, to the Conference Director of Camps explaining grace. It was awesome, and kids grew in their walks! You throw in the 4H Camp Jekyll experience, and it was quite the weekend!

I want to thank Annie and Derek, Kelly Golden, and Bill Curtis for being the adults on the trip; the parents for allowing us the privilege to minister to their kids, and the confirmation class that went – they were great! We also want to thank Nicole Lawson and her folks from Perry for all they did in putting this together and making it the success it was. We also want to send words of thanks to the staff at UGA’s Camp Jekyll, Ann Packard from the Moore Methodist Museum, and Suzanne Akins from Connectional Ministries for all they did to make the weekend so great! Thank you for your prayers, lifting these kids and us up!

In Christ,
Chip
