Associate Pastor Trevor Ward Earns His Master’s Degree

Tifton First Methodist Church recently became a little stronger as Associate Pastor Trevor Ward earned a Master of Arts Degree in Christian Ministries. Trevor was awarded his degree earlier this summer from Asbury Theological Seminary.

Trevor has been a part of the Tifton First staff as the Associate Pastor for more than four years. He came to Tifton after serving at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church in Macon as the Minister of Youth.

Trevor earned his under-graduate degree in Communication Studies from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville. He obtained his license to become a local pastor in 2018 and was under appointment in the United Methodist Church denomination.

Trevor, along with Tifton First Senior Pastor Chip Grantham, became ordained through the Association of Independent Methodists (AIM) in September of 2024 following Tifton First’s exit from the UMC.

In addition to his duties as Associate Pastor, Trevor also leads the Contemporary Service each Sunday and often participates in the worship music program. He is also the staff liaison for the Evangelism Team, assists with the broadcasting program, and creates communication content informing of activities at Tifton First Methodist.

“The Methodist ministry has always put a high value on education,” said Chip. “To do the coursework, while working full-time, with a wife and family, to be able to stick with it is a huge achievement. It speaks highly of Trevor.”

Trevor admitted that earning the degree was a challenging process, but the effort is paying off.

“Asbury provides strong biblical and theological training,” said Trevor, “so I feel like I’ve become a better pastor through that process.”
