Jesus and the Children

Jesus and the Children

This Sunday, I’ll be continuing the sermon series on “The Stories in the Windows,” looking at Jesus and the Children. One of the things I am so proud of is the ministry that Tifton First has had with children. From the Preschool, to Sunday School, to Children’s programming – we’ve got a lot going on, even amidst COVID. This year, the annual confirmation retreat wasn’t going to be held at Epworth By the Sea. Fortunately for us, Derek had already been working in his role as Children’s and Youth Director at his previous church to try and still insure that there would be a Confirmation Retreat. In coordination with the Conference’s Director of Camps, Suzanne Akins; the director of the museum at Epworth, Ann Packard; and the staff of Perry UMC; they had a plan in place for a retreat to the 4H Camp at Jekyll Island.  When Derek got here, he got Annie up to speed, and transitioned the planning over to her.  Our Confirmation Class will be going on this special Confirmation Retreat with the Confirmation Class from Perry UMC, on March 12th-14th.

Please be in prayer for these young folks as they continue to grow in their understanding of Jesus. Pray for this event, that everyone stays healthy, that they have fun, and that they make wise decisions. Pray for the volunteers and staff who make these events possible. And pray for our ministries to children, that we will continue to be sharing the love of Jesus with the children of this community in the ways that we are known for.

In Christ,
Chip
